Sonora, CA — A specific cause for the flooding of the Bank of America near Standard Road on Mono Way is still not known. The bank was closed until 3:15pm while the parking lot was drained.
Last night’s torrential rains were from a loud thunderstorm that dumped 1.20 inches and caused power outages. The total rainfall for March is now 1.80 inches according to our Sonora weather station. The latest information about the drought is in the news story “Supervisors Continue Drought Emergency“.
A new retaining wall and all new drainage were put in just one year ago. The branch manager says they hope to have the problem resolved this week by the contractor who did work on the parking lot drainage.
