Pinecrest, CA — The ongoing drought, and warm temperatures, has resulted in a local ski resort turning off the lifts.
Dodge Ridge Ski Resort announces that it is closed, at least until further notice. The resort says it could potentially reopen at some point this winter, weather permitting. However, the resort notes that no significant precipitation is projected in the long-term forecast.
Dodge Ridge has received just 159 inches of snowfall in the upper mountain area this season, and the average year would see over 300 inches. It has resulted in a short ski season at Dodge Ridge, lasting just over a month.
