Sonora, CA — The Director of Economic Development, for Tuolumne County’s Economic Development Authority, Larry Cope, is sharing his knowledge on planning for a successful business.
He notes the state, county, and the city of Sonora have different requirements like health and food permits, hazardous waste regulations and pollution control issues.
Cope says, “Many people, at one time or another, have had visions of owning or operating a small business. Yet, it is well documented that upwards of 50% of all new businesses discontinue operations within the first two years and only 20% survive beyond five years.”
Cope provides many details about different the licenses, permits and regulations in his monthly blog here. He also provides information about the three levels of environmental impact defined by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
