Valley Springs, CA — A major injury accident occurred at 1:45am this morning. Lyle Johnson, a 51 year old from San Andreas, fell asleep while going eastbound on Highway 12 near Highway 26. CHP Officer Rebecca Myers confirms that Johnson was going about 55 MPH when he left the road and collided with a tree.
Johnson was transported by air ambulance to Doctors Hospital in Modesto with major injuries. He was wearing a seat belt. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor.
