Mariposa County, CA — The 677 acre Hunters Fire in Mariposa County is contained.
The fire started at around 3:30pm on Monday, May 26. It burned in the Hunters Valley area near the southeast shore of Lake McClure. At one point nearly 100 homes were in danger, prompting mandatory evacuations. Two unoccupied homes were destroyed, as well as an outbuilding. This morning 32 firefighters remain on scene during the mop-up phase.
