Copperopolis Man Guilty Of Sex Crime

Copperopolis, CA — A Calaveras County Jury has found a man guilty of raping a child under the age of 10.

Deputy District Attorney Dana Pfeil prosecuted the case against 32-year-old Robert Walker. Pfeil says, “The victim was very believable and showed incredible courage in testifying. The jury believed her and I am pleased that justice was served today.”

Sentencing will come on July 21^st. The DA’s Office reports that the maximum sentence for this crime is 27-years, to life in prison, due to the age of the victim and Walker’s past criminal record. Walker remains in Calaveras County Jail as he awaits sentencing.
