Sonora, CA — CAL Fire has stopped the forward rate of spread of a five acre vegetation fire off Highway 108.
The fire originated near the Tuolumne County Law and Justice Center property. Highway 108 was closed down, near the fire, for about an hour. The redirected traffic also caused backups on Mono Way. Highway 108 is back open.
Heavy smoke was visible throughout Sonora. No structures were damaged. Crews will remain on scene mopping up the fire throughout the afternoon. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
