Sonora, CA — Allow yourself some extra time if you are going to be traveling on Mono Way this week.
Today and tomorrow, westbound traffic will be down to one lane as retaining wall work and sidewalk construction continues. Then, starting Wednesday, the City reports that westbound traffic will likely be detoured at Fir Drive, down to Sanguinetti Road, while some major slope excavation work will be taking place. The detour will be set-up between 7am-5pm. It is noted though that there will remain access to all Mono Way businesses while the construction takes place.
The full closure of Mono Way for the planned culvert work is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of July 21st, and that part will take around two weeks to complete.
