Mariposa, CA — Two San Francisco residents have been charged with setting up a large marijuana operation in the community of Mariposa.
A federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment against 54-year-old Jimmy Gong Yan Lee and 53-year-old Wei Jin Huang. Court documents show that they allegedly cultivated a combined 2,500 marijuana plants in a home and outbuilding in Mariposa. Lee and Huang were actually arrested for crime back on April 14, but the indictment from the U.S. Attorney’s office did not come until yesterday.
If convicted, Lee and Huang face a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
