Gold Streak Continues

Sacramento, CA — Both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties have struck gold again at the California State Fair at the Cal Expo in Sacramento.

The two counties were awarded gold ribbons last year and did it again this year for their exhibits promoting tourism.  This year’s fair theme is “Our Table to Your Table”.

“We had some very special furniture in our exhibit,” says Executive Director of Tuolumne County Visitors Bureau Nanci Sikes. “The tables that were displayed are actually salvaged from the Rim Fire.”

Sierra Pacific Industries provided the furniture. The gold ribbons are awarded based on a point system.  Counties are given credit for animation, technology, natural materials, products grown or produced in the region and how the exhibit relates specifically to the theme.
