Sonora, CA — The unemployment rate dipped last month in California, and remained relatively steady in the Mother Lode.
The State’s unemployment rate was 7.4% in June, compared to 7.6% in May. Tuolumne County’s rate was unchanged at 7.6%. Calaveras County’s rate dropped to an even 8%, compared to 8.1%.
Imperial County has the state’s highest unemployment rate at 22% and Marin County is the lowest at 4%.
Sectors that added jobs last month include mining, logging, manufacturing, financial services and healthcare. Areas that reported declines include construction, hospitality, and government.
The statistics were compiled by the State of California’s Employment Development Department.
