Twain Harte, CA — Due to cracks observed at the Twain Harte Dam, there is a flash flood warning for parts of Tuolumne County.
The National Weather Service reports at 10:45am the operator of the Twain Harte Dam reported seeing cracks, and heard a large boom, signaling a potential dam failure. There is concern that water could come out and go towards Sullivan Creek and portions of Belleview. There is a flash flood warning for those areas.
If in those areas, you are advised to not cross any water covered bridges, or low water crossings. The reservoir is just downstream from the community of Twain Harte, which is not expected to be impacted.
Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Sgt. Scott Johnson reports there are no evacuation advisories in place as a result of the flash flood warning.
