The fifth annual Heroes Day in the Foothills Blood Drive is going to be held on Tuesday August 26th.
Annie Stevenson, Director of Marketing for Delta Blood Bank of Sonora, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
AM1450 KVML, Star 92.7 FM, KKBN 93.5 FM and myMotherLode.com are once again joining forces with the Delta Blood Bank of Sonora to put on a community blood drive.
The Delta Blood Bank provides blood to 15 community hospitals and serves five counties.
The Blood Bank reports that about 60 percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, but only five percent do. One out of every 10 hospitalized patients needs blood.
The event will be held on August 26th from 11 AM – 6:00 PM at the Delta Blood Bank of Sonora, located at 850 Sanguinetti Road. Donors are encouraged to make an appointment by calling 1-888-94-BLOOD ext 200. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
As a thank you, donors will receive a commemorative t-shirt and a complimentary lunch.
