Police Department Investigating Robbery

Sonora, CA — The Sonora Police Department reports that an armed robbery occurred this morning at the Inns Of California on South Washington Street.

Police Chief Mark Stinson says the suspect also stole a vehicle, and drove away from the area. It happened at around 4am. Very limited information is currently available.  A victim in the incident was initially held against their will, so the suspect could also be charged with kidnapping, if caught. The stolen vehicle was located at around 12:30 this afternoon in the Mi Wuk area.
