Jackson Fire 65% Contained

Moccasin, CA – Cal Fire has released an update on firefighter’s efforts to contain the Jackson Fire near the Moccasin Marina.

The flames are 65% contained and the acreage remains at 68. Cal Fire Spokesperson Nancy Longmore says, “They’re going to continue doing line construction and mopping up and putting out all the hotspots so that we don’t get any rekindles.”

Cal Fire reports there will be one fire crew, three engines, and the Incident Commander assigned to the scene on Saturday.

The flames broke out just before noon Thursday on Jacksonville Road at the intersection of Highway 49.  Longmore says there is no estimated time of containment.
