Rim Fire Court Hearing

Fresno, CA — A court hearing is scheduled this afternoon for the Columbia man accused of starting last year’s Rim Fire.

Prosecutors allege that Keith Emerald was bow hunting in the Stanislaus National Forest and allowed a campfire to get out of control. The fire eventually burned 257,000 acres. The status conference, to update the attorneys involved, is set for 1pm at a Federal Courthouse in Fresno. Emerald has pleaded not guilty.
