Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Emergency officials have been in contact with ATT, and the company has reported to the Sheriff’s Office that a fiber optic line was disrupted eight miles outside of Sonora.
The exact location is not immediately clear, nor is it known how long it will take to make needed improvements. What exactly caused the disruption is also unclear. ATT officials have not been available for comment.
Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Sgt. Scott Johnson says dispatch is still able to receive 911 calls this evening. The dispatch is getting flooded with phone calls about the ATT outage, so Sgt. Johnson asks that only true emergencies be called in.
