Sonora, CA — An AT&T official has confirmed what caused last night’s phone and internet outage that impacted thousands of customers.
AT&T Spokesperson Alexander Carey says, “Some AT&T wireline and wireless customers near Sonora may have experienced issues with their service last night due to a cable cut caused by a fallen tree. Technicians worked quickly and service is now restored.”
AT&T says they apologize for the inconvenience. The outage occurred during the five o’clock hour last night, and was restored early this morning. AT&T has not released the exact location of the incident, but the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office initially indicated it was about eight miles outside of Sonora.
