Sonora, CA — The unemployment rate in the Mother Lode is right in line with the state average.
California’s rate fell to 7.3% in September, compared to 7.4% in August. Categories that added jobs include construction, transportation, trade and professional services. Sectors that lost jobs include manufacturing, education services, health services, and hospitality.
Tuolumne County’s rate is 7.0% and Calaveras County is 7.7%. Imperial County has the state’s highest unemployment rate at 23.9% and Marin County is the lowest at 3.9%.
