Angels Camp, CA – A Bret Harte student has been arrested for allegedly using his fist to hit a teacher.
Angels Camp Police say on Monday, just before 1 p.m., the department received a report of a battery on a school employee at the campus. Once at the school, investigators found a teacher suffering from a head injury. According to the police report, investigators determined that a 15-year-old student hit a teacher with his fist, causing injury to the teacher’s head.
Police would not comment further, citing the age of the suspect. Bret Harte Union High School District Superintendent Michael Chimente would only say, “It is a minor involved in the situation. We are handling the situation based on our current discipline policy and board policies that are in place.”
The student was arrested and taken into the custody of Calaveras County Probation. There is no word on the teacher’s condition.
