San Andreas, CA — The claim of a possible abduction yesterday in Calaveras County turned out to be a hoax.
An amber alert was issued yesterday for 14-year-old Sergio Vazquez, after a claim was made that two men forced him into a white van while he was at a mini mart in San Andreas. Vazquez was found last night in Stockton. He was turned over to the Calaveras County Probation Department. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department is not releasing any additional information as Vazquez is a minor, only to say that the story was fabricated.
The Sheriff’s Office notes that there was an extensive deployment of resources due to this false claim.
