Bear Valley, CA — Snowmakers, bustling in preparation, are now ready for this Saturday’s Opening Day to Bear Valley Ski Resort.
According to resort officials, lift operators will hit the “on” switches at 9 a.m. and “Winterfest” planned events and activities will ensue throughout the weekend.
As myMotherLode.com earlier reported, Skyline, the resort’s new owners hired 30-year industry veteran Benno Nager as general manager in late September. Under the new management, opening day activities in the ski area include a ski swap, purchase and pick-up of season passes, and lifts in operation until 1 p.m.
Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, which does not have the ability to make its own snow, has not yet announced an opening date. Resort spokesperson Sean Waterman says they are pleased to see that snow is expected later this weekend, and possibly into early next week.
