Sonora, CA – A big kick off to the holiday season. Santa Claus literally dropped into Sonora via helicopter. A long a line of over 200 kids was waiting to greet him and give him their Christmas wish lists. It was all part the 5th annual Clarke Broadcasting Cash and Coat Drive and Santa Fly-In for Interfaith.
A beautiful, sunny day brought out plenty of people who donated more than 800 coats. The Mother Lode community has already given more than $18,000 to the cause and you can still donate. (Click Pay Pal here and make your donation now! ) All the money raised helps local residents in need.
Interfaith serves food to more than 36,000 people throughout the year, and provides clothing and other services as well. In four years, more than $118,000 dollars has been donated along with more than 5,500 coats. Last year, by the end of the event, close to $40,000 was raised for Interfaith.
If you miss today’s event, you can always donate to Interfaith year round, Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 18500 Striker Court off Tuolumne Road in Sonora.
