Valley Springs, CA — Toyon Middle School will be closed tomorrow due to storm damage caused by the high winds.
Calaveras Unified School District Superintendent Mark Campbell says the damage consists of roof issues involving torn and missing shingles exposing the roof to the rain. He reports six classrooms have significant leaks and one HVAC unit was ripped from its foundation.
Campbell says, “The lack of sufficient classrooms, the potential for more to sustain damage overnight and the need for our crew to address the areas of need resulted in the decision”
