Sonora Pass Seasonal Closure

Sonora, CA — Caltrans has shut down Highway 108 Sonora Pass for the winter season.

The recent snowfall helped Caltrans to reach that decision according to spokesperson Rick Estrada who says, “The snow at the gate is one foot deep right now, but it is getting deeper as you go further along on 108.”

Estrada adds more inclement weather moving into the region sealed the deal to close the pass for the winter.

As previously reported, Yosemite officials shut down Highway 120 Tiago Pass yesterday and Caltrans closed Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass last week.
