The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada above 4000 feet, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
Snow accumulations of three to six inches are expected.
Strong winds are also anticipated.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel.
