San Andreas, CA – It’s about time to replace that old calendar and while doing that you may want to check the dates on the drugs in your medicine cabinet.
Calaveras County Sheriff’s officials want to remind the public that now is a perfect time to check for expired and unused prescription medications. Once weeded out, you can drop the drugs into a secure locker in the lobby of the new Sheriff’s Office anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday. The office is located at 1045 Jeff Tuttle Drive in San Andreas.
There are some guidelines to dispose the medications. All pills should be kept in their original bottles or dumped into a zip-lock bag. Sharp objects, such as needles, are not accepted.
