Fire in Calaveras County

West Point, CA — Firefighters are on the scene of an apparent escape debris burn above West Point.

Cal Fire reports the fire is a 1/4 acre in size with a slow rate of spread.  It is located in the Schaads Reservoir area.  There are two engines on scene and no structures are threatened at this time, according to Cal Fire.  We will bring you more information as soon as it comes into the News Center.

Update 1 p.m.:   Cal Fire reports the fire is contained at about a 1/4 acre.
