Sonora, CA – Motorists could face some traffic delays for the end of this workweek regarding the Mono Way Widening Project in Sonora.
On Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., crews will be digging a trench across Mono Way near Greenley Road to install conduits for power and utilities for the future Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Medical Office Building Project. City Engineer Jerry Fuccillo warns there will be congestion near the intersection. “They’re [crews] going to be closing two lanes and directing traffic around the trenching work. It is going to be a traffic mess,” says Fuccillo.
Motorists can expect lengthy delays, according to Fuccillo, who encourages motorists to use an alternate route if possible. He also says the current warm weather will allow paving and striping along Mono Way the beginning of next week in the overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Fucillo hopes to have the project completed by the end of February.
