Angels Camp, CA — Closed session items dealing with litigation against the city and a potential real estate transaction involving Mark Twain Medical Center will lead the City of Angels City Council meeting agenda Tuesday, Feb. 3.
After a 5 p.m. call to order, the council will adjourn to a one-hour closed session to discuss with legal counsel a case filed by four Greenhorn Creek residents a year ago against the city and City of Angels Camp Landscaping and Lighting District #1 over the use of assessment funds for wetlands maintenance. The case had been slated to be heard by a judge on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Also scheduled during the closed session is a conference regarding the property at 200 Monte Verda St., which currently houses city police and community development operations. Listed as negotiator is City Administrator Michael McHatten with Mark Twain Medical Center as negotiating party. According to the agenda, price and terms of payment will be under discussion.
As its final item of closed session business, the council will make its performance evaluation of City Administrator McHatten. When queried for details regarding the first two closed session items, McHatten indicated that he could not comment ahead of the meeting.
Scheduled to re-open to the public at 6 p.m. and following the council’s regular business, the agenda will focus on a sole item: a report by Calaveras Visitor Bureau (CVB). CVB Executive Director Lisa Boulton is expected to provide an informational presentation on how CVB utilized the transient occupancy tax funds that it received from the city and Calaveras County.
