Storm Causes Tuolumne County Road Closures

Sonora, CA — A couple of roads in Tuolumne County are closed this morning due to the heavy rain that passed through the area over the weekend.

Duke York of the Tuolumne County Community Resources Agency reports that Old Priest Grade is temporarily closed so that minor debris slides can be cleaned up, and drainages cleared. He says the road is expected to re-open sometime later today. Also, a stretch of Bell Mooney Road is closed because some debris and branches came down and are blocking a box culvert. York says it is unclear at this time how long Bell Mooney Road will be closed. We’ll pass along more information as it becomes available.
