Crime - drunk driving
Calaveras County, CA — The victim in an early morning solo rollover crash on Swiss Ranch Road has been identified.
The CHP says alcohol was a factor in the crash that happened at 1:30 a.m. near Miller Ranch Road. The Calaveras County Coroner reports 25-year-old Anna Carter of Mountain Ranch died in the wreck. She was a passenger in a Toyota pickup truck driven by 20-year-old William T. Bolin of Valley Springs. The CHP reports, due to Bolin’s intoxication he lost control of the truck, it went off the roadway rolled and crashed into a wooden pole. Bolin was arrested and charged with felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
Two other passengers in the car, 20-year-old Jason Leatherman of San Andrea suffered moderate injuries, but refused treatment, and 21-year-old Robert J. Prater of Stockton was not injured.
