Several events are being held today and there are more this weekend as well.
The Mother Lode Fair Grounds is hosting the 28th Annual Sonora Celtic Faire. The fair hosts Scottish & Irish Clans and dancers, belly dance troupes, costumed reenactors, entertainers, and a large Celtic food court. Attendees from the Bay Area are expected. The three day event began today, Saturday and Sunday the event opens at 10am. Tickets for adults today (until 3pm) are $12, Saturday tickets are $28 at the gate, and Sunday $25. Children’s tickets are $10 (5 and under are free).
Saturday is the 3rd Annual Badges & Hoops at the Summerville High School Gym. Local law enforcement and firefighters will be competing against Special Olympic Athletes. Doors open at 5:30. Ticket details are in the event listing here.
