Pedestrian Hurt In Accident Near Celtic Faire

Sonora, CA — An unidentified 61-year-old female was hurt after being hit by a vehicle on Stockton Road in Sonora.

It happened on Saturday night while the Celtic Faire was taking place. She was airlifted to a hospital in Modesto. The Police Department reports that 71-year-old Joseph McFadden of Atwater was driving a 2011 Lincoln Town Car westbound on Stockton Road, and struck the pedestrian. She was walking along the north edge of the roadway, near Forest Road, after attending the Celtic Fair. Police Chief Mark Stinson says the force of the impact knocked her onto the pavement. The PD reports the victim is in extremely critical condition, and that the investigation is ongoing.
