You can expect 15-minute traffic delays along a stretch of Highway 12, through May 29.
Caltrans reports that work is underway on the $6.8 million Mokelumne River Bridge reconstruction project. It will result in slow-and-go traffic, starting this morning, and continuing for the next couple of months. There are traffic control measures in place on Highway 12, at the Mokelumne River Bridge, allowing for one-way traffic to pass through. Caltrans reports that an alternate route should be taken when possible.
While traffic will start moving more come the beginning of June, the construction on the bridge will actually continue through November.
