Sonora, CA — California Assemblyman Frank Bigelow has named a Tuolumne County Supervisor the “Woman of the Year” in his district.
Sherri Brennan joined the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors in 2012, and previously was a member of the Tuolumne County Board of Education. She has been actively involved with several agricultural organizations, including the California Farm Bureau Public Lands Committee, Tuolumne County Farm Bureau, and the Tuolumne-Calaveras Cattlewomen’s Association.
Bigelow says, “Sherri is a champion for youth programs and has committed herself to expand opportunities for emerging young leaders in our rural communities. A true advocate for rural California, Sherri Brennan exemplifies the leadership, humbleness and dedication to be our district’s 2015 Woman of the Year.”
Held annually, the Woman of the Year ceremony at the state capitol celebrates California’s extraordinary women. The first ceremony was held in 1987 to help commemorate Women’s History Month. The event has become an annual Capitol tradition to salute women who have done outstanding community service.
Brennan and members of her family were on hand in Sacramento to receive the honor from Assemblyman Bigelow.
