No Burning Through Work Week

Sonora, CA — Because of high fire danger anticipated over the next few days, there will be no debris burning allowed in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.

CAL Fire requested that the local air pollution control districts declare today through Friday, a “no burn day.” CAL Fire Unit Forester Adam Freese says it is due to anticipated high winds. He notes that CAL Fire has already responded to several escaped debris burns over the past several weeks, one of which resulted in a structure being damaged.

CAL Fire will continue to monitor the weather as the week transpires.
