According to the National Weather Service, Sierra Nevada snow and central valley rain is likely this Sunday through Tuesday.
Locally heavy rain and small hail is anticipated with potential thunderstorms.
There will be two specific systems affecting the region.
The first system is due Saturday night through Sunday. Showers may linger into Monday. Several inches of snow accumulation is likely above 4000 ft. Snow levels will lower to 3000 feet.
The second system will arrive on Tuesday. Snow levels will begin between 3,000 to 4,000 feet.
Given the long stretch of warm weather, it is recommended to be prepared for wintry driving this weekend into early next week.
