Caltrans To Install Rumble Strips

Jamestown, CA — Caltrans will begin installing rumble strips on a 5.3 mile stretch of Highway 108/120, and it will result in some traffic delays.

The work will start near Enterprise Drive and continue west until reaching J-59. Caltrans reports that 10 minute delays can be expected while construction is underway. The work is expected to begin next week, weather permitting, and continue into May. Caltrans reports that rumble strips are designed to alert drivers when their vehicles leave their traffic lane. As tires pass over the rumble strips, drivers can hear the noise and feels the vibration produced by the rumble strips. The strips are ground into the pavement surface.
