Sonora, CA — Today several Caltrans crews are out cleaning up Highways in Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.
It’s part of a statewide effort to remove litter and debris. Caltrans reports that you will see several maintenance crews out along the area highways, and the agency asks that you drive with caution. Caltrans reports that litter presents a wide range of threats to human health and the environment. Fires are started from burning cigarettes. Harmful chemicals and biohazards cause a serious threat to human health, and litter often clogs roadway drainage systems, resulting in flash flooding.
