Sonora, CA — Cal Fire is preparing for a busy summer fire season.
CAL Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit Chief Josh White and Assistant Chief Paul Avila will be the guests on Mother Lode Views this weekend. They will talk about the impact of the drought on firefighting, what they expect this summer season, and defensible space rules and requirements.
Burn permits will be required effective May 1st. On May 4th the unit will transition from having seven engines, up to 14. Air tankers are scheduled to arrive around May 18th.
