Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will face a full agenda on Tuesday.
The Board will hear a 10:30am presentation on preparing the final budget. It is a precursor to the budget vote scheduled for August 18th. It is noted in meeting documents that the county is looking to maximize funding for the new jail, in order to reduce future borrowing. As reported previously, the county is set to receive a combined $33-million in state grant money, and the overall project cost is around $42-million. In addition, the county is working to reduce the reliance on “one-time” (non-reoccurring) revenues during this year’s budget cycle.
The Board will also vote whether to declare the former Jamestown Mine property as “surplus property,” so that the county can begin the process of selling the land.
Also, the supervisors will hear an update on the drought, and discuss the water element of the Tuolumne County General Plan. Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am in the Board meeting room.
