Road And Intersections Need More Review

Sonora, CA — The Technical/Citizen’s Advisory Committee (TAC) is going to take more time to review an updated evaluation of Tuolumne County’s roads and intersections.

A draft of the road and intersection study was released June 30th, in an earlier story here. It evaluates several intersections and roadways and identified a few as needing improvement. Tuolumne County Transportation Council (TCTC) released the Final Traffic Study Report at the August TAC meeting. Eleven intersections and eight roads were noted in the study as failing to meet a minimum required level of service during peak morning and evening commute times.

According to Darin Grossi, executive director at Tuolumne County Transportation Council and Tuolumne County Transit Agency, the counsel decided they should take time to thoroughly review the technical 100-page Final Traffic Study Report. This is only one step in determining what needed roadwork has the top priority in Tuolumne County.

The council voted to extend the comment period ten more days to August 19th, 2015.
