Strawberry Music Festival Returns To Tuolumne County

The popular Strawberry Music Festival returns to Tuolumne County next Thursday through Labor Day weekend.

Jodi Barnett, Operations Manager and Spokesperson for the Strawberry Music Festival, was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The county reviewed and approved an application for a Conditional Use Permit to hold the 34th annual event at the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians Westside property, on the edge of Tuolumne City from Thursday September 3rd through Monday September 7th.

For many years, the popular festival was staged at Camp Mather, but it was displaced after the 2013 Rim Fire. It has since been held at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley.

“Strawberry Music Festival is a locally based year-round business based in Jamestown” Barnett said. “It was important for us to find a location in Tuolumne County. The return of the festival next week should benefit the entire area from Sonora to Tuolumne City and beyond”.

The festival will be set up over 100 acres on the 175 acre piece of property and could host up to an estimated 5,600 guests.

Barnett said, “If you’ve never been a part of the festival, this Labor Day weekend will be a great time to see what we are all about. The Strawberry Music Festival is a wonderful community, which also just happens to feature great music.”
