Healthcare Hits The Streets Of Sonora, Again

Sonora, CA – The Project HOPE healthvan returns to the streets of Sonora next week.

The outreach program run by Sonora Regional Medical Center (SRMC) provides a free mobile medical clinic for those in need. The wheeled clinic will take to the roadways on Thursday, September 10^th, after being on hiatus because nurse practitioner Sheila Monaghan was on medical leave.

Gail Witzlsteiner, Executive Director of the Sonora Regional Medical Center Foundation, who oversees and raises funds for the service shares, “I am so pleased that this important community service of the Medical Center will once again be available to provide care to those people who do not have insurance or have high deductibles.”

Here is SRMC’s schedule for the healthvan:

For the first month only, the Project HOPE healthvan will be located between Wal-Mart and PetSmart on Mondays and Thursdays. Hours on September 10, 14 and 17 will be from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Please arrive at least an hour before closing to allow yourself time to be seen. Starting Monday, September 21, the hours will resume to 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The healthvan will be at Interfaith on Thursday, September 24, and will then resume its 4th Friday of the month schedule starting in October. Starting Monday, October 5, the schedule will go back to its original service days of Monday and Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm adjacent to Wal-Mart.
