Sonora, CA — A Sonora man led law enforcement on a high speed chase.
A Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to pull over 29-year-old Matthew Dale Miller for speeding in the Mi Wuk area Thursday evening. It started at around 6:40pm. The deputy briefly lost sight of the 1993 Acura Integra, but he was shortly spotted by other deputies heading westbound on Highway 108 toward Twain Harte. Miller then turned into Twain Harte and the pursuit went through several neighborhoods. The CHP soon joined in on the chase, and Miller traveled through the Crystal Falls area and eventually over to the Phoenix Lake Estates. Miller then proceeded to jump out of his car near the golf course and tried to flee on foot. Law enforcement officers were able to catch up to Miller and take him into custody.
The CHP reports that Miller had been driving while intoxicated and was in possession of drugs. He was taken to Tuolumne County Jail.
