Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will talk about a plan to address dying trees, whether to take a stance on federal water legislation, and delays related to the Juvenile Hall construction.
All of those issues are on the agenda for Tuesday’s board meeting. The Supervisors will vote whether to adopt a resolution continuing a local state of emergency due to pervasive tree mortality. In addition, the board will vote on sending a letter to state and federal lawmakers about the growing issue.
The Supervisors will also hear a progress report on the Juvenile Hall construction. County documents leading up to the meeting note that the project is 28 work days behind schedule due to the high amount of rock encountered at the site.
The Board will also decide whether to send a letter of support for a Warren Act contract from the BOR and New Melones Reservoir that would store up to 100,000 acre ft. of water on behalf of the Calaveras County Water District. The Supervisors are interested because of the potential to have some of the excess water transferred to Tuolumne County for domestic and agricultural use.
Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am in the Supervisors meeting room.
