Sonora, CA — As a flagpole goes up in downtown Sonora, motorists will have to slow down and could face delays.
Tuolumne County road crews will be using a crane to erect a flagpole at the Courthouse off Norlin Street on Monday. Due to the size of the equipment, the roadway will be closed between Yaney Avenue and West Jackson Street from 8 a.m. until noon.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, if possible, by taking an alternative route such as North Washington Street. County road officials say detour signs will be posted.
