Hydrant Work Delays Traffic

Sonora, CA — Downtown Sonora hydrants are getting a facelift, which could result in delays for motorists.

The city has hired Oakdale-based Mozingo Construction to update and improve fire hydrants in the city. Crews will work with flaggers directing traffic at different locations through Friday, Nov. 13.  The work zones will set up along Southgate Drive, Sonora Avenue, Toby Lane, Church, Sunset and Maple streets.

The contractor will continue making improvements at some of these locations weekdays through Nov. 20. Additionally, beginning Monday Nov. 16, crews will also focus on Stewart, Shepherd, and Barretta streets.

Operations will run weekdays through the two periods from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Mozingo Construction has indicated it will announce more details on further scheduled weekly work. Schedules are subject to change without notice.  All work will be done, weather permitting. Motorists should slow down and use caution in the areas, due to personnel and equipment along the impacted roads.
