Sonora, CA — A Sonora man was hurt after being hit by a vehicle while entering a downtown Sonora crosswalk.
It happened at 5pm on Thursday at the intersection of Washington Street and Bradford Street. 79-year-old Dale Batchelor was hit by a 2013 GM Acadia driven by 39-year-old Jennifer McLevis of Sonora, who was turning northbound onto Washington Street from westbound Bradford Street.
Batchelor told officers that both of his feet were run over by the front tire of the vehicle. This caused him fall down on the pavement, and that caused additional injuries. Batchelor was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Police Department reports that drugs and/or alcohol were not a factor in the incident.
